Detect issues before they surface

Thermal imaging uses infrared technology to pick up subtle temperature differences across surfaces. This allows us to uncover hidden leaks, heat loss, moisture intrusion, or electrical hotspots early, giving you a clearer picture of your property’s condition.

Frequently asked questions

We’re here to help. Here are answers to some of the most common queries we receive.

What is thermal imaging, and how does it work?

Thermal imaging uses infrared technology to detect temperature differences on surfaces. This helps us identify issues like hidden leaks, heat loss, moisture intrusion, or electrical hotspots, problems that aren’t visible during a standard inspection.

What can a thermal imaging inspection detect?

Our thermal imaging can help uncover:

  • Water damage or hidden leaks
  • Moisture trapped behind walls
  • Missing or poorly installed insulation
  • Areas of mould risk
  • Electrical faults or overheating components
When should I consider a thermal inspection?

Thermal imaging is especially useful if you suspect moisture problems, have high energy bills, or want a non-invasive way to check for hidden issues, especially in new homes, older properties, or renovations.

Is thermal imaging included in a standard building inspection?

It’s available as an optional add-on. While standard inspections cover visible issues, thermal imaging gives an extra layer of insight into concealed defects that could otherwise go undetected.

Is thermal imaging safe for my home?

Yes, it’s completely non-invasive and doesn’t involve any contact or damage. We simply scan with a handheld camera that displays temperature variations in real time.

Will I get a report with thermal images?

Yes. We include annotated thermal photos and a summary of any anomalies we detect, along with practical advice on further investigation or repairs if needed.

Do you need special access or conditions for the scan?

Thermal imaging works best in stable indoor conditions. We may ask for access to certain areas or suggest scheduling the inspection when environmental temperatures are ideal for accurate readings.
